Our objective in designing this website has been to be as informative as possible about the parish of Stokenchurch. As a result of feedback we have had since the website was first put on the internet in 2009, we have now divided it into two sections - 'The Village' and 'The Parish Council'.
'The Village' will tell you something about Stokenchurch: where it is, its history, what facilities it has to offer and some of the forthcoming community events. The section on 'Living in Stokenchurch' will be of particular interest to anyone who has just moved into the village. It may also make longer term residents more aware of the wide range of facilities that are available both in and around the area.
I would particularly draw your attention to the section 'Village News'. This highlights issues germane to the village and is a very useful way of finding out what is happening in our community.
'The Parish Council' section contains a list of the councillors, the agenda for and the minutes of council meetings, a section on council finances and details of the services that the council provides. There is also a section, 'How Local Government Works', which explains which local authority is responsible for the services that you pay for through your council tax.
I would emphasise that the Parish Council meetings are open to all and would encourage as many people as possible to attend. We are all stakeholders in the life of our community.
I welcome any comments that you may wish to make about this website. If you spot any errors, if you feel some of the matters dealt with could be made clearer, if you feel something has been omitted or if you simply want to make an observation or make a comment, please send an e-mail to the Parish Clerk at clerk@stokenchurch.org.uk or ring him on 01494 482403 and we will do what we can to address what you say.
