The Parish Council is pleased to announce that the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Longburrow Hall has been handed over by the contractors and is now available for use.
Due to the weather, the contractors have only been able to install temporary lines to mark out the 5 a-side football pitch, but as soon as we get some drier, warmer weather, permanent markings for football and netball will be installed.
The MUGA is available FREE of CHARGE to all parishioners and except when the facility is booked for group/football club use, the MUGA is available at any time between 8.00am and 10.00pm. A notice to indicate when the MUGA is booked, will be put up in advance.
In due course, the Parish Council hopes to install floodlighting, and there would have to be a charge for electricity (and also for use of the changing & showering facilities if required).
An official opening ceremony is to be arranged, at which the Council and parishioners will have an opportunity to thank everyone involved in obtaining the MUGA.
The Council hopes that users will treat the facility with care and resolve any demands on who should use the MUGA amicably.

Joint replacement work took place in early February.
In the longer term we believe that the M40 Highways Group are still planning to start the Junction 5 bridge work once similar work on the Junction 7 bridge has been completed. As far as we know the Junction 7 work has yet to start.
M40 Highways have promised to update us in the near future.

On 28th January the Wycombe District Council announced that after years of campaigning, members of M40 Chilterns Environment Group (M40CEG) had received news that the proposal to quieten stretches of the M40 had moved a step closer to becoming a reality.
After considering over 300 proposals submitted by councils on behalf of their local action groups, the Local Government Association (LGA) short-listed 172 schemes. From that short-list the Secretary of State will evaluate and select the proposals it wants to implement.
Working in partnership with Wycombe District Council and South Oxfordshire District Council, M40CEG proposed that the Highways Agency take action to permanently reduce road noise through re-surfacing, improving sound barriers and implement speed and night time restrictions between junctions 3 and 8.
The proposal, if agreed, could significantly improve the quality of life for the local residents along the stretch of the M40 from Loudwater through to Wheatley in Oxfordshire.
As yet a timeline has not been confirmed by Government, but the LGA is pushing to discuss these proposals in the coming weeks and are hopeful that the process will be completed before the Easter recess.
